SVR514 Installation Guide

The SVR514 is designed for wireless installation, meaning it does not require connection to the vehicle's electrical system. This allows for a faster and less invasive installation compared with traditional wired GPS trackers.

Step 1 — Prepare the Device

Before installation, make sure you have the SVR514 device and the required account/service information available. Follow the activation instructions provided with your device.

Step 2 — Activate the Tracker

Activate the device according to the supplied activation procedure. Once activated, the tracker can begin communicating with the GPS and cellular networks.

Step 3 — Choose the Installation Location

Select a secure and discreet location on the vehicle or asset where the tracker can remain firmly mounted and protected.

For applications using the optional magnetic cradle, the device can be mounted securely to a suitable metal surface. The SVR514's sealed design makes it suitable for demanding environments and non-powered assets such as trailers, marine equipment, and powersports vehicles.

Step 4 — Secure the Device

Secure the tracker so that it does not move, fall, or become easily accessible. The mounting method should be appropriate for the specific vehicle or asset and installation environment.

Step 5 — Verify Communication

After installation, allow the device to establish GPS and cellular communication. Log in to the SVR tracking platform and verify that the device is showing correctly and reporting its location. SVR's support documentation notes that the platform provides tools for managing and monitoring installed devices.

Step 6 — Complete the Installation

Once the device is communicating correctly:

  • Confirm the correct asset/device association.
  • Verify the reported location.
  • Confirm that the tracker is securely mounted.
  • Ensure the device remains protected from accidental damage or removal.
  • Complete the installation record.

Important Installation Note

The SVR514 is a wireless, self-powered tracker, so no vehicle wiring is required for the standard installation.
